Navi Mumbai is the largest planned city in the entire world, situated on the west coast of the Indian subcontinent, Maharashtra in Konkan division, on the mainland of India. The city is divided into two parts, North Navi Mumbai and South Navi Mumbai, for the individual development, which includes the area from Kharghar to Dronagiri & Uran, including Taloja and Old Panvel nodes in the city of Navi Mumbai.

CIDCO planned 14 nodes divided into the North and the South part. The 7 nodes in the North part are Airoli, Ghansoli, Kopar Khairane, Vashi, Sanpada, Nerul and Belapur. The 7 nodes in the South part are Kharghar, Kamothe, Kalamboli, Pushpak Nagar, Panvel, Ulwe and Dronagiri. Also, two municipal bodies have been established, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) in the North and Panvel Municipal Corporation in the South.
